CREA-RS (Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of Rio Grande do Sul) is responsible for regulating and overseeing the practice of professions related to Engineering, Agronomy, and Geosciences in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, ensuring that technical activities are performed within safety and quality standards.

The Challenge

At its 90th-anniversary event, CREA-RS aimed to surprise stakeholders and highlight the future of the organization by promoting solutions that reflected its vision of innovation and efficiency. Additionally, the organization faced operational challenges such as:

• High bureaucracy: Many processes relied on time-consuming, manual document analysis.

• Excessive response time: Requests took up to 15 days to be processed.

• Lack of automation: Administrative processes still used formats that caused delays, like emails and attached forms.

The goal was to create a practical demonstration of how technology, particularly AI, could transform these processes, providing agility and reducing operational costs.

The Solution

GX2 proposed a Proof of Concept (PoC) using Globant Enterprise AI, a powerful platform that connects the Genexus development platform with generative AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini.
The solution was integrated into CREA-RS's Professional Portal, allowing for an innovative experience, including:

• Alexa-enabled for Engineering: We developed a customized skill where engineers can issue Technical Reports (RT) using voice commands, even out of order. The AI interprets the commands, identifies the client, prices the services, and suggests relevant information to speed up the process.

• Automated Document Analysis: AI automatically analyzes submitted documents, eliminating the need for manual validation.

• Real-Time Data Consultation: We created a BI feature integrated into the portal, enabling professionals to query real-time information.

During the 90th-anniversary event, this solution demonstration not only captured attention but also set the stage for the partnership in 2025.

The Results

• Reduced bureaucracy: Request processing time decreased from 15 days to under 1 minute.

• Increased process speed: AI eliminated attachment forms and simplified internal communications.

• New projects initiated: Following the success of the PoC, three new AI initiatives were approved for 2025, all focusing on the Professional Portal.

• Positive event impact: The presentation clearly showed that CREA-RS is at the forefront of innovation, strengthening its image with stakeholders.
