1) How Elaine da Costa, product delivery manager for one of our partners, started at TI

Elaine has been working in the IT field for nearly 20 years. I started as a Java developer, then I worked as a requirements analyst, project leader, project manager and Scrum Master. Currently, I lead the Product Manager Delivery team. Since I was 13 years old, I already knew that I wanted to work in the IT area, and he thinks all the work done until reaching the end, which is the user, is incredible.

2) What are your biggest challenges faced?

Elaine has already suffered some prejudices in her family, in which some people, when they found out that she was going to attend Computer Science in college, said that “anyone can type on the computer”. And in college, there was a professor who was also a coordinator who spoke in all classes, from the first day of class, that women need to study a lot more to get a vacancy in the IT area.

3) Message of support for other women who want to enter IT

Elaine highlights: “The message I always say, regardless of the profession, the area you want to follow, it is important to think about what you like to do, what you really want and not what others want or say. If we love what we do, the work flows much better and even if we encounter obstacles, we manage to have our efforts recognized”.

4) GX2’s relationship with women in IT

According to Elaine, GX2 knows how to respect the individuality of each person, regardless of gender.

“In all the opportunities I had to talk to the GX2 team I was always very respected, I didn’t notice any difference in treatment due to a certain gender”.
